Welcome Back and Happy New Year!
Welcome to your second semester of 8th grade! Use the pages listed to the right to access information about your class. Assignment Calendars are listed under the unit number. Information about high school recommendations can be found under your class name page. Online textbook information has it’s own page.
We look forward to a successful second semester. Remember-your first semester grade and your second semester grade is averaged for a yearly average. Your yearly average must be 70 or above to pass the class without summer school attendance. There is a maximum of 2 classes that can be taken in summer school and each class cost at least $100. If a student has a yearly average of less than 70 in more than two classes, summer school is not an option and the student will be retained in the 8th grade.
The CRCT will be administered April 15-22. Students in 8th grade must pass the Reading and Math section of the CRCT to be promoted to 9th grade. Georgia OAS is an online CRCT practice site that students can use to take practice tests with immediate results. The wesite is http://georgiaoas.org Students have been given their individual username and password by their homeroom teacher OR students can use grade8 as both their username and password.
